We've been here several times since moving last December and I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet! There are quite a few burger places in Atascadero, but this seems to be the one we head to when we're looking for a good, juicy burger. My husband sticks with their regular, I tend to go for the Californian (although I switch out the Pepper Jack to just plain cheddar), and our daughter LOVES their chicken strips with BBQ sauce. We've also had their tri-tip salad, fish and chips (it's good but I can never finish them), onion rings (super tasty!), and of course their fries. The price is a little more than you might pay for fast food, but still reasonable, and the portions are mostly shareable. There's only been one time we've gone and been shocked - and that was the day Cal Poly had a graduation ceremony and it seemed like the entire Central Coast needed a burger afterward. The wait for food was an incredible hour and a half (they warned everyone as they walked in), and we opted to come back later! :)
Still love this place - and I think it's pretty neat that the kids can drop in here after school for shakes and fries, too. -

The Impossible Burger is back at the Atascadero location and wow! They prepare it like a real burger and it really looks like one. If you're vegan or vegetarian or just trying to be more plant-based than this is a great option, be aware that it is very meaty and juicy and might make you question every bite because it's so realistic to an actual meat burger!
The vegan cheese, vegan Sylvester sauce, sprouts, and avocado really makes it come together really well, only wish the bun fit the patty itself.
I will admit the price is a bit much, almost $15? but I'm not surprised. Atascadero is barely starting to include more vegan/vegetarian options so until it's more common, it'll probably keep being more pricy but I'm just happy it's happening now and more people will get the chance to experience it.
I tried it on my birthday, but because it's the most expensive one on the menu, I still had to pay the difference ($5) which isn't bad.
So if you want an almost free vegan burger on your birthday, I say just try it!
I'll be back soon, but I think I'll stick with my favorite black bean burger and basket of fries. -

Located in the heart of Atascadero off of El Camino Real and the 101 right across from the park. They offer inside and outdoor patio for dining.
You walk in and are immediately greeted and see the many options to satisfy your craving. I opted for the Mushroom burger and got in a 1/2lb size! Came out fresh and with the ability to take off any toppings you didn't want. I had to try some of the mushrooms before I pierced my burger together. Boy were they delicious and moist.
The signs outside say "hot & juicy" boy they didn't deceive you one bit. It was messy eating, but I didn't mind. It was well worth it. I also sampled some of the fries, but nothing to write home about. I did see plenty of onion ring orders head out and those looked huge and tasty. Will have to definitely try those next time.
The staff was friendly and very attentive. Even came up to my table and cleaned off my mess (sorry guys).
I will definitely -

On this trip once again I did not look at my order before I headed home. I called in an order for two Californians and sweet potato fries. The receipt said 5 dollars so I thought I was just getting the hook up so didn't say anything lol. Well it was because I only had one burger and one free burger coupon. So they only charged me for fries. Needless to say not everyone was happy when we got home.
Just check your orders. Other than that l, awesome place to eat and always recommend to people from out of town. -
